Bangladesh Services Limited (BSL) is a Public Limited Company. The Company has been engaged in the hospitality business since its inception and has pioneered international standard five-star hotel business in Bangladesh.
BSL conducts hotel business in the name of Inter-Continental Dhaka under an agreement with Inter-Continental Hotels Corporation from 1973 to 1983 and in the name of Dhaka Sheraton Hotel under an agreement with Sheraton Overseas Management Corporation (later known as Starwood Asia Pacific Hotels and Resorts Pte. Ltd.) from 1983 to 2011 (April). After expiry of the management agreement with Starwood, BSL continues to manage the hotel in the name of Ruposhi Bangla Hotel from 1st May 2011 and is also operating an Executive Lounge at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Dhaka (which is being used by the leading airlines as their business and first class passenger lounge and commercial bank for their premium customers). Recently, BSL has signed a management agreement with the world-renowned hotel management company, Inter-Continental Hotels Group (IHG) on 19th February 2012. The Hotel will be re-branded as “Inter-Continental Dhaka” after completion of an extensive renovation in line with brand standards of IHG. BSL also took up the management of Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC), the country’s first multi purpose convention centre from 1st July, 2012.
